So many of the plants that thrive here in Los Angeles hail from South Africa.

On Aug. 31 (Saturday)  Gideon Smith of the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) discusses aloes of southern Africa in the keynote address at this year’s symposium at Huntington Gardens.
