Happy Spring!

tulipblog2.jpgTulipa clusiana LADY or CANDY TULIP with Senecio mandralisae. Unlike fancy hybrid tulips, the species t. clusiana is perfectly content to bloom annually in our warm climate in dry and bad soil. Mine have been coming up every year for 8 years with no special care. Senecio allows them to come through and keeps me from accidentally digging them up during the rest of the year. Subtle colors are more beautiful than garish hybrids and looks great with other Mediterraneans. Especially silver foliage.
